Are You Ready?
06:30
|
|||
Times are changing all over the world
What will you do? I say, what will you do
when the life you know is gone,
where will you run? I say, where will you run
when the wheels of your bus are gone?
So, I must say, Are You Ready?
To bring sound to every song, mute and denied,
to speak life unto these words;
I'm unhappy with this world, and it's hands wrung 'round
mine and our...skinny necks.
It's the crisis of our times, to reap that which we have sewn,
and then to ask ourselves, Are You Ready?
Time to accept all that's been denied,
to take off this mask, and find
Humanity inside-
Covered up by drugs and guns, in a cellophane caccoon.
I say it's time to break free,
to stretch these forgotten wings
And thus born anew
Are You Ready?
For you'll hear it in a scream, or hear it in a whisper
The words of today-
I don't want to fall in love with the ways of this world, with
it's wars and wage death! There must be
another way, than the seeds of our fathers' work
and so I shall say...
Are you Ready?

Hope for the Humans

I'm listening
to everything you say.
And I'm paying attention
to how you've changed every day.
And I'm wondering
what it is that makes you,
you.
But I'm curious...
what's your name?
When feelings of control
creep into our lives, so bitter,
poisoning the mind and the soul...but
I don't need to know
where you've been nor where you're going
only where you are
right now,
right now,
right now...
right...right...
Now!

The Temptation of Serge
03:45
|

I'm tired of this world,
and I think it's time that I-
found my own to call my own.
In the back of your mind,
keeping time by
ticks in your spine-
a backtrack from some sublime
that you'll never know
'cause your culture told you so-
to stick it out in line-
god'll pick you when it's time-
well this story may be yours, but it's not mine.
Walking home one night, passing by
an empty home,
I thought that I'd make it my own.
So I walked up inside,
opened the door, just to find...
The exact home I'd left behind!
Behind...

Homies

Can I show my love with a din?
Or can I...well
there's really just no other way.
'Cause a face reminds me
of things that I...
could forget.
When you live so far away
it's hard to think of things to say.
When the years turn memories
is our story over?
(So far, so far-
Years turn, years turn-
Is our story over?)
Stop wasting time,
there's a world out for you!
Saving pennies and dimes,
is it really, really true?
Fucking friends to waste time,
paying rent, but it's fine...
'Cause I told you
it's what I wanna do...
And I'll go away, and
say I'll come back...never.
But you know, some day...
that I'll probably die here.

People
07:38
|
|||
People, please tell me,
what it is in this life that you're looking for?
'Cause it don't seem good to begin each day
picking yourself up off the floor.
Just to dust yoursel off,
and to try to find out what feels so aloof...
Baby, it's you!
Please, let me tell you the one thing
that I'll have no patience for-
Is a closely closed mind that insists that there's
nothing in this life that's worth living for
more than the simple day-to-day, that'll
only let you see that which you know.
For I feel that it takes more
to help a spirit grow.
People
seem to just slip away.
I bet
you wouldn't even remember my face
if not for the sound of my voice
put to the beat of this drum...
as it goes-
People, people, people, people!
People
seem to just come and go,
fading in and out like
the songs on the radio-
Coming into my life for just a bit,
slipping on in-and-out and then you're gone.
Just like the rest of all of the-
People, people, people, people!
People
is this what you came to see?
A song sung out for you,
pleading from a simple, sad me?
To just have a little time where we could sit,
and maybe talk about...
Anything!
That'll keep us-
People, people, people, people!
Oh, look deep in these eyes
and I swear that you'll ne'er hear a word that'll shudder,
save for the days, lost without a friend
that I'm wasted again, see me
faded again!
People
why aren't you listening
to all these little voices,
as if they didn't mean a thing?
Because policemen, they will tell you something different-
and poor people, they will tell you something different-
and black people, they will tell you comething different,
but it's all the same! (Hey!)
I say, it's all the same (Hey)
Yes, it's all they same,
I say that it's all the same!

-Movement I-
Oh, Rastafar-
I, donno why I wear my
hair in this way, it's got nothing to do with you.
Oh, why ask, I ask,
so you can know, at last,
all these stupid questions, when you could just know me.
Still some say that I
wish that I could be black,
I wish that I could be black,
I wish that I could be black,
I wish that I could be black, too.
Fine, dine and sit down
no, you can't run around
forced-feel weight, strapped down,
it's something not unlike death.
Stuck behind a desk, I
keep on asking you, why
won't you listen to me?
stuck up and fat...Fuck you.
Still I say that I wish that I could see you,
I wish that I could see you,
I wish that I could see you,
not behind the glow of a tube.
Oh, but deliver me,
from this sea of uncertainty.
This world of plastic smiles,
trying to make me a zombie...
Well, I feel a coming down-
The table's turning 'round,
so without a flinch or a sound
I stick my head in the ground.
-Movement II-
Look at yourself...
you used to be so different to me!
Or maybe it's just me
who's really changed.
-Movement III-
Is it too much to ask
to not be understood? And yet
still feel good?
Not feel like I should hide myself away?
Is it too much to ask
to please someone else? And yet
still be myself?
I pray that we're not asking this all in vain...

Don't bite the hand that feeds you lies.
(Don't bite the hand that feeds you lies)
Don't bite the hand that beats you down.
(Don't bite the hand that beats you down.)
Don't ask, when we all cave in,
crushed by all that we 've made.
"I turn away
from all this suffering.
Because I cannot stand
the sight of blood.
It's just one of those things
It's just one of those things..."
Don't bite the hand that feeds you lies.
(Don't bite the hand that feeds you lies)
Don't bite the hand that beats you down.
(Don't bite the hand that beats you down.)
Don't ask, when we all cave in,
crushed by all that we've made.
"I...think I'll just turn away.
I'll...pick up the pieces another day.
I...think I'll just turn away.
I...think I'll just turn...

Don't come close to me;
let me breathe!
You smell like a pig in gasoline
sick scent of control.
So should I tell you how I feel,
or practice some self restraint?
Think I'll have to go with honesty.
So here it goes...
Don't act surprised.
When something Bad
should happen to you,
nor to your little car.
Your tricyce with a motor.
Your tricylce with a motor.
Equiped with a sorded sense of real,
finding importance in the miniscule.
Lost sense of humanity,
by playing a part.
Respect, above all
must be earned,
so command me one more time
and I'm afraid I'll have to say...
Don't act surprised.
When something Bad
should happen to you.
Nor to your little car.
Your tricycle with a motor.
Your tricycle with a motor
